Augusta Tied For Fifth To Open Tavistock Collegiate Invitational

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Augusta Jaguars made their sixth-consecutive appearance at the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational on Sunday and shot even-par 288 to share a tie with No. 36 Arizona State in fifth place after round one at Isleworth Country Club.

Co-hosts University of Central Florida and North Texas welcomed 15 teams to the par-72, 7,544-yard historic Isleworth course for three days of golf. Five of the 15 teams are ranked in the top 10 and 10 are ranked in the top 50.

No. 7 Florida and No. 31 Purdue lead the event five-under par. North Florida and Vanderbilt are tied for third at two-under par, and No. 36 Arizona State and Augusta are tied for fifth.

Jaguar junior Broc Everett recorded his fourth round in the 60s this season with a 69 (-3) to sit tied for fourth overall. Everett led the team with five birdies. Senior Jake Marriott shot one under on the back nine and one over on the front to finish with an even-par 72 and is tied for 18th.

Senior Cooper Brown made his second start for the Jaguars and his third total appearance on the season after competing as an individual last week. Brown is tied for 26th after shooting one over, while senior Emmanuel Kountakis turned in a 74 (+2) for a tie for 38th.

Freshman Gustav Andersson rounded out Augusta in 70th with a 79 (+7).

Teams compete in round two on Monday with another 18 holes. Augusta tees off with Arizona State and Vanderbilt.

The total field includes UAB, Arizona, Arizona State, Augusta, California, No. 7 Florida, No. 1 Illinois, New Mexico, No. 9 North Carolina, North Florida, North Texas, Purdue, No. 6 Texas Tech, UCF, and No. 3 Vanderbilt.
