Talented Twosome Inks With Augusta Jags Men’s Golf For 2016-17

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta University head men's golf coach Jack O'Keefe announced the addition of incoming freshman Gustav Andersson and junior-transfer Ryan Johnson who will join the Jaguars for the upcoming 2016-17 season.

Gustav Andersson (Falköping, Sweden) committed to Augusta in the National Letter of Intent (NLI) early signing period in November 2015.

Andersson attended Filbornaskolan National School of Golf in Helsingborg, Sweden from 2012-2016. Andersson competed under Coach Hans Larsson. As a senior he had seven wins, seven second-place place finishes and two third-place finishes on the highest level of junior golf in Sweden. He was also a member of the Swedish National Boys team in 2015.

In 2012, Andersson won the Skandia Cup for his age group and carded a 65 (-7) for his low round at Toxandria Golf Club in Holland. Andersson plans on studying international business.

Ryan Johnson (Trophy Club, Texas) is a junior-transfer from McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas. Johnson most recently helped capture the NJCAA Division I Men's Golf National Championship for the McLennan Highlanders in May.

Johnson led the Highlanders with 72-67-71-71 – 281 and finished in seventh place. He was a two-time NJCAA All-American and ranked fifth individually at the end of fall semester in 2016.
