Gustav Andersson Signs With Augusta In NLI Early Signing Period

Jaguars gain freshman from Falköping, Sweden for 2016-17 season

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University men's' golf team gained freshman Gustav Andersson in the National Letter of Intent (NLI) early signing period, Head Coach Jack O'Keefe announced Monday morning.

Gustav Andersson, a 6-0, 185-pound freshman from Falköping, Sweden will join Augusta for the 2016-17 Division I golf season. After a visit to Augusta in February, Andersson says he felt that this is where he wanted to be to develop his golf game.

Andersson attended Filbornaskolan National School of Golf in Helsingborg, Sweden from 2012-2016. Andersson played golf under Coach Hans Larsson. As a senior he had seven wins, seven second-place place finishes and two third-place finishes on the highest level of junior golf in Sweden. He was also a member of the Swedish National Boys team in 2015.

In 2012, Andersson won the Skandia Cup for his age group and carded a 65 (-7) for his low round at Toxandria Golf Club in Holland. Andersson plans on studying international business.
