-- Augusta State posted a final-round 299 Tuesday and
finished in third place in the General Jim Hackler Championship at
TPC Myrtle Beach.
The Jaguars, currently ranked No. 3 in the nation, were paced by
junior Henrik Norlander's sixth-place effort. Sophomore
Taylor Floyd tied for 10th while Patrick Reed and Mitch Krywulycz
tied for 22nd. Carter Newman posted a 75 and tied for 45th. Senior
Jake Amos, playing as an individual, carded a one-under 69 to jump
into the top 10 and finish alone in ninth.
East Tennessee State posted a 296 and claimed a three-shot victory
over tournament host Coastal Carolina. The Chanticleers enjoyed the
best round of the day, combining for a three-over 291 to move into
second place. Pepperdine and Wake Forest were fourth and fifth,
respectively.
ETSU's Seamus Power, the overnight leader, shared medalist
honors with Pepperdine's Josh Anderson at one-under 215.
The Jags return to action March 28 in the Hootie at Bulls Bay
Intercollegiate at Bulls Bay Golf Club in Awendaw, S.C., just
outside of Charleston.
