San Martin, Calif. -- Augusta State booked a
27-over 387 Monday in the first round of the CordeValle Collegiate
at CordeValle Country Club.
The Jaguars, ranked No. 31 in the nation by Golfstat, were led by
junior Jake Amos and sophomore Henrik Norlander with a pair of
four-over 76’s Senior Janne Kaske and freshman Taylor Floyd
are tied for 50th after a pair of six-over 78’s. Sophomore
Carter Newman and freshman Brendan Gillins each posted a
seven-under 79 and are tied for 58th.
Southern California shot a three-under 357 and jumped out to a
10-shot lead over Charlotte. Stanford, Arkansas and Washington
rounded out the top five.
Southern Cal’s Matthew Giles and Stanford’s Sihwan Kim
are tied for the individual lead following a pair of three-under
69’s. Coastal Carolina’s Zack Byrd and USC teammates
Jamie Lovemark and Tim Sluiter are tied for third at two-under
70.
The Jags will be paired with Santa Clara in the second round and
will hit the course at 11 a.m. Eastern.
