MACON, Ga. -- Augusta State shot a 17-over 297
Monday in the final round of the Brickyard Collegiate Championship
at Brickyard at Riverside Golf Club.
The 25th-ranked Jaguars finished eighth in the 15-team field and
just six shots out of fifth place.
Senior Janne Kaske carded a one-over 71 and was the team’s
low finisher, notching a tie for ninth at six-over 216 (74-71-71).
Taylor Floyd and Olle Bengtsson turned in a pair of 75’s and
Jake Amos and Brendan Gillins managed a pair of 76’s.
Georgia posted the best round of the day – a two-over 282
– and claimed a five-shot victory over first-round leader
Georgia Tech. Clemson, Florida State and Virginia Tech were third,
fourth and fifth, respectively.
Georgia Tech’s Cameron Tringale shot a one-under 69 to earn
medalist honors by a single stroke over Virginia Tech’s Drew
Weaver.
ASU will close out its fall schedule in the CordeValle Collegiate,
slated for Nov. 3-5 and hosted by defending national champion UCLA
at CordeValle Country Club in San Martin, Calif.
