Jaguars Rally For Runnerup Finish

SABOT, Va. -- Augusta State fired the low round of the day Tuesday and jumped five spots into second place in the third and final round of the VCU Shootout at Hermitage Country Club.

The Jaguars, who began the day in seventh place and seven shots back of second-place Virginia, carded a nine-under 275 and overtook Virginia, Virginia Tech, Iowa and Wichita State. ASU finished in a tie with host Virginia Commonwealth at 11-under 841.

The Jags have now shot under par in five of their first six rounds of the season. Over their first two events, the Jags are a combined 42-under par.
