ELGIN, S.C. -- Former Augusta State standout
Major Manning fired a four-under 68 and moved into a tie for the
lead in Saturday’s third round of the Capitol Chevrolet &
Hyundai Classic at Woodcreek Farms Golf Course.
Manning, who began the day two shots back of halfway leader Gary
Woodland, posted seven birdies against four bogeys after making
just one bogey through the first 36 holes. He birdied three of his
last five holes and stands at 16-under 200 (65-67-68).
Manning is tied with Andrew Dresser of Carrollton, Texas, while
Josh Teater and Brennan Webb sit two shots off the lead in a tie
for third at 14-under 202. Tyler Leon, Alex Hamilton, Ed McGlasson
and Luke Hart are all tied for fifth, three shots back at 13-under
203.
A two-time All-America selection at ASU in 2005 and 2007 as a
sophomore and senior, respectively, Manning is in search of his
first victory as a professional.
