ELGIN, S.C. -- Former Augusta State standout Major Manning is tied for second place halfway through the Capitol Chevrolet & Hyundai Classic at Woodcreek Farms.

Manning followed up his first-round, seven-under 65 with a five-under 67 on Friday afternoon. He is two shots off the pace, set by Gary Woodland of Dallas,Texas, who posted his second consecutive 65 in the second round. Through two rounds, Manning has carded 11 birdies and an eagle against a lone bogey.

A two-time All-America selection at ASU in 2005 and 2007 as a sophomore and senior, respectively, Manning is in search of his first victory as a professional.
