Jaguar Duo Headed To U.S. Publinx

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Augusta State’s Josh Gregory and Mitch Krywulycz are headed to the U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship in Norman, Okla.

Gregory, entering his eighth year as head coach of the Jaguars, and Krywulycz, a rising junior from Sylvania, Australia, finished first and second in a recent U.S. Amateur Publinx qualifier at Furman Golf Club in Greenville, S.C.

Gregory posted a six-under 138 over 36 holes while Krywulycz was three shots back at three-under 141.

The U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship, conducted by the USGA, is slated for July 13-18 at the Jimmie Austin/Oklahoma University Golf Club in Norman, Okla. Two rounds of stroke-play qualifying (18 holes each) are followed by six rounds of match play, with the 36-hole championship match slated for Saturday, July 18.

Former Jaguar All-American Scott Jamieson recently claimed his first big professional win.

A four-year letterwinner and All-American as a senior in 2005, Jamieson captured the Partypoker.com European Championship on the EuroPro Tour.

He turned in a 54-hole total of nine-under 207 at Prince’s Golf Club – Shore and Dunes in Sandwich, Kent, England.

Former ASU standout Wallace Booth makes his European Tour debut on Thursday, July 9 when he competes in The Barclays Scottish Open at Loch Lomond Golf Club in Glasgow, Scotland.

Booth earned an invitation to the Scottish Open as the Scottish Stroke Play Champion. When former amateur and fellow Scottish Golf Union member Callum Macaulay turned pro, Booth earned an exemption into the field.

The Golf Channel has live coverage of the Scottish Open, one of the biggest non-major events on the European Tour, beginning Thursday morning at 10 a.m. Eastern.
