STATESBORO, Ga. -- Augusta State freshman
Taylor Floyd shot a two-over 74 and finished fourth Sunday in the
final round of the Schenkel E-Z-GO Invitational at Forest Heights
Country Club.
Playing as an individual, Floyd – a freshman from Macon, Ga.
– entered the final round as part of a three-way tie for the
lead with Tim McKenney of Florida and North Carolina State’ s
Matt Hill.
ASU posted a 309 and finished 17th in the 18-team field. Sophomore
Henrik Norlander tallied the Jags’ best finish, tying for
20th after a final-round 75.
South Carolina carded a two-under 286 and claimed a two-shot
victory over Tennessee and North Carolina State. Florida and
Kentucky rounded out the top five.
North Carolina State’s Matt Hill booked a three-under 69 and
claimed medalist honors by three strokes over South
Carolina’s George Bryan.
ASU returns to action March 29-31 in the Hootie at Bulls Bay
Intercollegiate at Bulls Bay Golf Club in Awendaw, S.C.when. The
Jaguars play host to the Administaff Augusta State Invitational
April 4-5 at Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Ga.
