MURRELS INLET, S.C. -- Augusta State posted a
36-hole total 603 Sunday in the first two rounds of the General
Hackler Championship hosted by Coastal Carolina at TPC Myrtle
Beach.
The Jaguars are in seventh place in the 14-team field heading into
Monday’s final round. East Tennessee State (11-over 587)
leads by three shots over Pepperdine, while Wake Forest is third,
four shots off the lead and North Carolina State and the host
Chanticleers are tied for fourth, 10 shots back of the
Buccaneers.
Sophomore Olle Bengtsson paced ASU with a 36-hole total of
four-over 148 (77-71) and is part of a tie for 13th place. Junior
Jake Amos is tied for 30th at seven-over 151 (74-77) while senior
Janne Kaske (75-77) and sophomore Carter Newman (78-74) are tied
for 36th at eight-over 152. Sophomore Henrik Norlander turned in
rounds of 80-77 and is tied for 59th at 13-over 157.
The third and final round is slated to begin for the Jags at 8:00
a.m. Monday morning. ASU, which will be paired with Lamar and UCLA,
will be led off by Norlander at 8:00 a.m., followed by Newman at
8:09, Kaske, at 8:18, Amos at 8:27 and Bengtsson at 8:36.
