AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Augusta State head men’s golf coach Josh Gregory carded a two-under 68 Thursday and is in second place after one round of the Georgia Amateur Championship at Idle Hour Club in Macon, Ga.

Gregory, coming off a third-place finish in the Palmetto Amateur three weeks ago in Aiken, S.C., notched a pair of one-under 34’s on each side of the par-70, 6,617-yard layout. He trails leader Robert Sheats of Atlanta by two shots.

Inclement weather forced a delay of more than two hours, with 44 of the 156 players in the field not able to complete their first round.
