Severe Weather Delays NCAA's

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Severe weather in the West Lafayette, Ind., area resulted in the evacuation of the golf course and suspension of the third round Friday afternoon in the NCAA Championships at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex’s Kampen Course.

All teams and individuals who were unable to complete the third round will do so with a 7 a.m. shotgun start on Saturday. All ties will be determined immediately following and the top 15 teams that advance to the fourth round, will begin with revised tee times beginning at 11 a.m.

The Jaguars had just made the turn to the back nine when play was suspended for the day. None of the 15 teams in the afternoon wave of tee times were able to complete their rounds.

UCLA took the lead overall, posting a 10-over 298 in the morning wave of teams. The Bruins own a three-shot lead over Southern California and Clemson, while Stanford and Oklahoma State are fourth and fifth respectively.

Individually, UCLA senior Kevin Chappell fired an impressive four-under 68 to move four strokes ahead of Clemson’s Kyle Stanley and Washington’s Nick Taylor. Florida’s Billy Horschel is fourth and Southern Cal’s Tim Sluiter is fifth.

Fourth round pairing sheets with the revised tee times will be distributed on site at the conclusion of the third round.
