1969-1970 (*NAIA)
- After a 24-4 regular season, Augusta advanced to the District 25 Championships. Five starters averaged in double figures, led by Joe McBride at 22.7 ppg and Chip Johnson at 22.2. In the opening round of the district playoffs, the Jaguars defeated Albany State 95-78 and won the championship with a 60-54 win over Valdosta State. The team advanced to Kansas City and scored an 85-64 win over Monmouth (N.J.) with four players in double figures. Augusta dropped a tough 74-71 decision to Stephen F. Austin in the next game, despite four more double digit performances.
1970-1971 (*NAIA)
- The Jaguars made it two straight trips to Kansas City by claiming their second district championship. After a 20-5 regular season, Augusta beat LaGrange 95-81 and Columbus 67-64 to claim their second trip to nationals. In Kansas City, the Jags dropped their opening game 75-71 to Great Falls (Minn.). For the season, Johnson led four double digit scorers with 25 ppg.
1977-1978
- With five players in double figures and after a 19-6 regular season, the Jaguars advanced to the NCAA Division II regional playoffs. It marked the first time in five years that the Jaguars had qualified for the postseason, but in a tough first game, Augusta fell 103-101 in triple overtime.
2000-01
- Augusta drew the sixth-seed in the South Atlantic Region and topped South Atlantic Conference champion, Catawba, 96-84 in the first round. Gary Boodnikoff and T.J. Ott combined for 50 points to top No. 3 seed Catawba and give the Jaguars their first NCAA Tournament win in school history. Augusta fell in the second round of the NCAA Tournament 65-48 to No. 2 seed Winston-Salem State. The Jags posted a 21-10 overall record, the school’s first 20-win season since 1978 and won the Peach Belt Tournament.
2001-02
- Augusta reached the NCAA Tournament in back-to-back seasons with its trip in 2002. After a 22-8 regular season, the team lost in the first round of the NCAA Division II South Atlantic Region 73-70 to No. 5 seed Johnson C. Smith. Letterance McFadden led the Jags with 15 points before fouling out. Chris Harriman and T.J. Ott finished with 12 apiece. Augusta captured its second consecutive PBC Tournament title as well.
2006-07
- Augusta made its first trip to the tournament under head coach Dip Metress in 2007. The Jags drew the top seed to host the 2007 NCAA DII South Atlantic Regional in Christenberry Fieldhouse. It would be the first of five straight years where Augusta hosted the regional. Ranked No. 18 in the nation, the Jaguars dropped No. 8 seed Elizabeth State, 79-53 in the first round with PBC Player of the Year Tyrekus ‘AJ’ Bowman scoring 26 and PBC Freshman of the Year, Ben Madgen, adding 18. No. 5 seed Wingate hit a layup with 19 seconds left against the Jags in the semifinals to pull out a 79-78 win. Garret Siler turned in a career-high 28 points with 10 rebounds to lead the Jaguars, while Madgen had 20 and Bowman 12 in 21 minutes.
2007-08
- Augusta hosted the NCAA South Atlantic Regional for the second straight season and beat No. 7 seed Johnson C. Smith 58-54 to advance to the semifinals. The Jaguars avenged their 2007 regional loss to Wingate and won 78-65 over the third-seeded Bulldogs. AJ Bowman tied his career-high with 33 points, Garret Siler had 19 points, and Ben Madgen 21 points. The Jags beat Clayton State 89-72 to advance to their first Elite Eight and defeated Central Oklahoma 106-104 in double overtime. Winona State handed Augusta an 87-76 loss in the National Championship game – the team’s only appearance in the title game.
2008-09
- Hosting its third consecutive NCAA Regional tournament, Augusta won 62-60 over No. 8 seed Tusculum in the quarterfinals of the southeast regional. Top-seeded Augusta downed No. 5 Barton 77-61 to advance to the NCAA Southeast Regional Championship where they dominated rival USC Aiken 85-57. Garret Siler and Ben Madgen each scored 25 as the Jags advanced to their second straight Elite Eight. Ranked No. 4 in the nation, Augusta rallied past Christian Brothers 70-62, but fell to Cal Poly Pomona 74-70 in the National Semifinals.
2009-10
- Augusta played host to its fourth consecutive NCAA Southeast Regional and downed No. 8 seed Brevard 91-73 in the opening round. The Jags never trailed in the semifinal game to No. 5 seed Anderson and won 100-70, before owning Montevallo 79-71 to win the regional championship and earn a third trip to the Elite Eight. In the National Quarterfinals of the Elite Eight, Augusta lost 67-64 after Bentley hit a go-ahead three points with 17 seconds left.
2010-11
- Nationally ranked No. 3 in the final poll, Augusta was tabbed to host its fifth straight NCAA Regional and took care of UNC Pembroke 80-66 in the opening quarterfinal game. Frank Ndongo had 24 points and 13 rebounds and George Johnson 22 points. Johnson added 31 points in the next game against No. 4 seed Queens to advance to the regional championship game. No. 7 seed Anderson blocked a potential game-tying shot with two seconds left in overtime to beat Augusta 75-73.
2013-14
- Hosting five NCAA Regionals from 2007-2011, the Jaguars drew the fifth seed and beat No. 4 seed Anderson 86-84 on Devon Wright-Nelson’s go-ahead layup with five seconds left. Wright Nelson had 28 points and Harold Doby added 10. Top-seeded and host USC Aiken beat Augusta 78-58 in the semifinal game with three Jaguars scoring in double figures.
2014-15
- The Jaguars earned the fifth seed in the NCAA Southeast Region Tournament and fell 84-75 to fourth-seeded Mount Olive. Keshun Sherrill paced all scorers with 28 points for the Jags – sinking five three pointers in the contest. Devon Wright-Nelson scored 12 points with five rebounds and D'Angelo Boyce notched 14 points off the bench.
2016-17
- Augusta earned its 11th all-time selection to the NCAA Tournament and the eighth under head coach Dip Metress. Earning the No. 5 seed, Augusta rolled No. 4 seed Columbus State 102-68 in the quarterfinal game of the NCAA Southeast Regional with Keshun Sherrill becoming the school’s all-time leading scorer. Sherrill needed 20 points to break the PBC all-time scoring record and he finished the contest with 22 points, four rebounds, and three assists. Top-seeded and host Queens held off Augusta 88-82 in the regional semifinal. Sherrill had 28 points. He was named the NCAA Southeast Region Player of the Year and the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Year.
2018-19
- Augusta entered the 2019 NCAA Tournament as the second seed in the NCAA Southeast Region and the No. 16 nationally-ranked team in the country. The selection to the tournament was the 12th all time and ninth under head coach Dip Metress. Augusta played back-to-back overtime game in the NCAA Southeast Regional Tournament quarterfinals and semifinals. The Jaguars beat Francis Marion 77-70 in OT in the quarterfinals, before coming back from a 21-point defecit against rival USC Aiken in the semifinals to win 93-89 in overtime. Riding a 15-game win streak, Augusta fell to tourney host and top-seeded Queens, 91-78, in the Sweet 16.
2019-20
- Augusta University men's basketball team drew the fourth seed in the NCAA Southeast Regional to earn a trip to the NCAA Tournament. It marks Augusta's 13th selection all-time ('78, '01, '02, '07, '08, '09, '10, '11, '14, '15, '17, '19, & 2020) and the tenth in the last 14 years for head coach Dip Metress. Augusta making the postseason was the 15th time overall after reaching the NAIA tournament in 1970 and 1971. Augusta hosted five NCAA Regionals from 2007-2011. Augusta's first round game againt Lincoln Memorial and all subsequent games in the NCAA tournament were cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns.
