Jags Wrap PBC Play with Win in Florence

FLORENCE, S.C. – Augusta finished Peach Belt Conference play with a 57-41 road win over Francis Marion. It was the third straight win for Augusta (9-6 overall, 7-6 Peach Belt Play). AU played the majority of the season without two of last year's starters. With the loss, Francis Marion moves to 3-10, 3-9 in Peach Belt Conference Play.

 

 

Jags junior Tyshaun Crawford went 5-for-7 from the floor and 4-for-5 from the charity stripe for 14 points. He rounded out his double-double with 10 rebounds.  Darren Lucas-White also scored 14 points to help lead the Jags to victory. Lee Flenor added 10 points and 12 rebounds for another Jaguar double-double for the night.

The Patriots were led by Jamal Thomson's 9 points.

 

Putting on a defensive clinic, The Jaguars held the home team to just 13 points in the first half. Never trailing, AU extended their lead to as many as 23 points. While the home team scored more bench points, Augusta outscored the Patriots 32-16 in the paint and outrebounded FMU 51-37.  

The Augusta University men's basketball team travels to Allen University for a 3:00 pm non-conference contest on Sunday Feb 28th.
