Darren Lucas-White Leads Shorthanded Augusta Team to Victory Over Georgia College

AUGUSTA, GA - Augusta Men's basketball was without several players in its weekend win over the visiting Georgia College Bobcats. The #11 Jaguars move to 3-0 on the season, 1-1 in PBC Play while the Bobcats move to 1-1, 1-1 Peach Belt play.

Darren Lucas-White continues what has been a monumental start to the season, scoring 25 points in the contest. Going 10-for-17 from the field, Lucas-White also added 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals to disrupt Georgia College's offense. The junior shot 60% from beyond the arc. Junior Tyree Myers added 15 points and 8 assists. Freshman John Whitehead III was 4-for-8 from the field, carding 9 points and 6 rebounds.

The game was tight throughout, featuring 10 ties and 13 lead changes. The Jaguars held a narrow 37-33 lead at the half. The Bobcats brought the game to a single-possession contest with 47 second left, but late fouls by the visiting team helped secure an Augusta win.

 

The Jaguars are back in action this Wednesday the 13th when they travel to Flagler College for 7:30pm PBC Conference match-up. All game can be viewed on the PBC Sports Network.
