CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Augusta University men's basketball team will face top-seed and tournament host Queens in the NCAA Southeast Region Championship game on Tuesday, March 19 at 7:00 p.m. in The Levine Center. Riding a 15-game win streak and ranked No. 16 in the nation, second-seeded Augusta advances to the regional championship game for the fifth in school history.

Tickets are $10, $5 for children (17 and under), senior citizens (62 and older) and college students with their school ID.

In their 12th trip to the NCAA Tournament, the Jaguars (28-5) won back-to-back overtime games to reach the 2019 championship game. Augusta beat Francis Marion 77-70 in the quarterfinal game on March 16 and came back against rival USC Aiken to win 93-89 on March 17 in the semifinal game after trailing by 21 in the second half.

No. 10 Queens (30-4) is also making its 12th all-time appearance in the NCAA Tournament and the fourth in a row. The Royals pulled out a 96-93 win over Catawba in the other semifinal game to reach the championship game for the third consecutive season. Queens won the South Atlantic Conference regular-season title, but fell in the SAC Tournament quarterfinal game.

Augusta will meet Queens for the third time in the tournament. The Jags beat the Royals in the 2011 regional semifinal game and fell the last time out against Queens in the 2017 semifinal game. Augusta last reached the region title game in the 2010-11 season and fell to Anderson after a potential game-tying shot was blocked. The Jaguars won three straight region championships (2008, 09, 10) and advanced to the Elite Eight three years in a row. The Jaguars hosted the regional tournament for five straight seasons from 2007 to 2011.

AU senior Deane Williams is averaging 15.7 points and 9.3 rebounds per game heading into the Sweet 16. Jags junior Rafael Monteiro scores 15.0 points per game with 5.9 rebounds a contest and freshman Miguel Arnold (12.0 ppg) and senior Tyvez Monroe (10.1 ppg) highlight the other scorers.
