AU's point total was the second most by the team this season, as five Jaguars scored in double figures and all 11 players who recorded minutes scored in the contest. Augusta has broken 100 points twice this season.

Senior Deane Williams scored a team-best 21 points with five rebounds, four assists, and three steals and blocks for Augusta. Junior Rafael Monteiro carded 18 points, senior Tyvez Monroe 17 points, senior Aaron Byrd 12, and sophomore Troy Cracknell 10 points for the Jaguars.

Williams blocked a shot and Augusta cruised the floor off the possession to drill an uncontested jumper for an 8-0 run to start to the game. Augusta built its largest lead of 17 in the first half, but Clayton State clawed back and trailed by five after a made three pointer with 1:48 on the first-half clock. Augusta used another 8-0 run to close the half and led 48-35 at halftime.

Out of the halftime break, Augusta forced two turnovers and got two easy buckets in the paint to lift their lead. A three pointer from Cracknell put Augusta up 70-49 as Clayton State called a timeout to try and slow down the Jags' offense. The lead never changed and Augusta shined for the win.

The Jags outrebounded CSU 38-24 and scored 27 points off turnovers and 38 in the paint.

The Jaguars host the Flagler Saints for another PBC game on Wednesday, Jan. 9 at 7:30 p.m. in Christenberry Fieldhouse.
