Augusta Men’s Basketball Hosts Fifth Annual Education Day Game Dec. 6

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University men's basketball team hosts the fifth annual Education Day Game on Thursday, Dec. 6 with over 2,500 fifth graders from Richmond County for a special 11:00 a.m. tipoff in Christenberry Fieldhouse. The Jags host a single non-conference game against the Emmanuel College Lions.

"Education Day has become an event that Richmond County Schools, Augusta University, and our men's basketball program anxiously await each year," head coach Dip Metress said. "The collaboration between all entities enables memories to be created that could have a lasting impact on people's future endeavors."

 

The men's game tips off at 11:00 a.m. and admission is free to all.  

 

Over 2,500 fifth graders from the Richmond County school system be in attendance as part of the annual holiday outing. There will be halftime entertainment from the Jumping Jags – a local youth jump roping group from Grovetown Elementary School. Santa and his elves will also make an appearance!
