AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University men's basketball team gained point guard Miguel Arnold out of South Miami High School who signed his National Letter of Intent (NLI) to play in the 2017-18 season. Augusta head coach Dip Metress announced the news on Monday.

"We are excited about Miguel joining us for next season," Metress said. "He is physically ready to play from day one and comes from one of the best programs in the state of Florida - South Miami High School. I really like the fact that he won in high school at a high level and has had to compete on a big stage and for his country of Puerto Rico."

The 5-11 guard left his home country of Puerto Rico to pursue his basketball career and landed at South Miami High school for his junior and senior seasons. Arnold averaged 15.3 points per game, five assists per game, and four rebounds per game.

He was named first team All-Dade Basketball by the Miami Herald, as he guided the South Miami Cobras to a 26-4 overall record and a 12-0 divisional mark.
