Keshun Sherrill Named All-District, Picked For Reese's NABC Division II All-Star Game

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Augusta University men's basketball senior guard Keshun Sherrill will be one of 20 to compete in the 2017 Reese's Division II College All-Star Game on Friday, March 24 at 7:00 p.m. (CDT) in the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D. Sherrill was also named first team NABC All-District for the Southeast Region. Selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC in NCAA Division II, these 88 student-athletes on the All-District teams represent the finest basketball players across America.

The Reese's Division II College All-Star game features teams composed of two senior student-athletes from each of the eight regions in Division II and five senior at-large selections.

The game will be streamed live on the Sanford Pentagon Facebook page.

The game features a pair of outstanding former coaches who have had distinguished careers in coaching and athletic administration.  Bill Gross spent 35 years at his alma mater, Augustana University.  He coached the men's basketball team for nine seasons, posting a 154-103 record, winning the North Central Conference title in 1988-89.  During 28 years as the Vikings' director of athletics, Gross helped his programs win 40 conference championships, including 17 in the NCC and 23 as members of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.

Butch Raymond has had a legendary career in the NCC and Northern Sun conferences. He began his coaching career at his alma mater, Augsburg College, before moving on to St. Cloud State. He had significant success at St. Cloud and led his teams to consecutive NCC titles in 1986, 1987 and 1988. Raymond also served at Southwest Minnesota State as director of athletics before being named as the fourth commissioner of the NSIC in 2004. He guided the conference expansion from an eight-team league to a 16-team super conference in NCAA Division II. Raymond retired in 2014.

About the National Association of Basketball Coaches

Located in Kansas City, MO, the NABC was founded in 1927 by Forrest "Phog" Allen, the legendary basketball coach at the University of Kansas.  Allen, a student of James Naismith, the inventor of basketball, organized coaches into this collective group to serve as Guardians of the Game.  The NABC currently has nearly 5,000 members consisting primarily of university and college men's basketball coaches.  All members of the NABC are expected to uphold the core values of being a Guardian of the Game by bringing attention to the positive aspects of the sport of basketball and the role coaches play in the academic and athletic lives of today's student-athletes.  The four core values of being a Guardian of the Game are advocacy, leadership, service and education.  Additional information about the NABC, its programs and membership, can be found at www.nabc.org.
