Sherrill Named PBC Player Of The Week Third Time In His Career

AUGUSTA, Ga. – For the third time in his career, senior All-American Keshun Sherrill was named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week. The award is the first of the 2016-17 men's basketball season and was released the league office on Monday afternoon.

Sherrill averaged 23 points per game as the Jaguars opened the season 2-0 in regional action on the campus of Barton College in Wilson, N.C., The Augusta University guard from Cleveland, N.C., shot 52 percent from the field with 4.5 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game.  He opened with 22 points against Mount Olive, adding four rebounds and five assists. He came back the next day with 24 points on 9-for-14 shooting against Barton.

Sherrill shot over 40 percent from three-point range and hit all 12 of his free throw attempts.  Sherrill is currently fourth in the PBC in scoring, second among players with more than one game, and is fourth in assists.

The Jaguars play their home opener this Thursday, Nov. 17 against Claflin University at 7:30 p.m. in Christenberry Fieldhouse.
