Men’s Basketball Hosting Clinic For Children of the CSRA’s First Responders

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta University head men's basketball coach Dip Metress announced plans to host a free basketball clinic for children of the CSRA's first responders on Thursday, Oct. 13 in Christenberry Fieldhouse.

Sponsored by the Augusta Jaguars men's basketball team and AU Public Safety, the free clinic is for boys and girls between the ages of 8-13 and it will last from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

"This is Augusta University men's basketball's way of saying not only that we thank you for what you do, but more importantly we appreciate what you do for our community," Metress said.

The term "first responder" is defined by the U.S. Homeland Security Presidential Directive and refers to those individuals who in the early stages of an incident are responsible for the protection and preservation of life, property, evidence, and the environment.
