SAVANNAH, Ga. – Sophomore Augusta native Tamyrik Fields scored a career-high 22 points, while junior Keshun Sherrill turned in 25 in a 92-87 Peach Belt Conference road win against the Armstrong Pirates on Wednesday night.

The conference road win moved Augusta to 8-6 overall and 4-3 in the PBC, while the Pirates moved to 5-9 overall and 3-4 in the league.

Sherrill made his first field-goal attempt and Fields got an uncontested dunk in the first two minutes to get the Jags moving offensively. The Pirates took the lead after Sherrill's opening basket and led the first 10 minutes despite Fields tying the game at nine-all.

The Jags trailed by nine with 4:16 left in the first half when juniors Crump and Sherrill hit three pointers in consecutive Jaguar possessions. A layup from freshman Aaron Byrd brought Augusta within four to go into the half down 41-37.

After exchanging a few baskets, Sherrill sunk two from the floor to steal a 45-43 lead. Freshman Ben Ursich connected on a three pointer and got a steal the next possession to push the Jags on top 57-50 with 10 minutes left in the contest.

Armstrong's Kwei Lartey tied the game 61-all on a layup, but a free throw from Sherrill and jumper from Fields stretched the lead for Augusta. Byrd made his second three pointer of the game to push the lead to 69-62 and Armstrong's Shaquiell Mitchell answered with a shot and two at the charity stripe for a five-point game under four minutes to play.

The Jags led by six with under 10 seconds. After a few of Augusta layups, Shema Sabiiti hit a three pointer and got a tip-in layup for the Pirates for a three-point affair but Sherrill got to the free-throw line to hold off the persistent Pirates 92-87.
