Jags To Host Day of Service Game Jan. 9

Augusta University to recognize Day of Service participants during basketball doubleheader

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University men's and women's basketball teams will host the Day of Service game on Saturday, Jan. 9 at Christenberry Fieldhouse to recognize the Augusta University Day of Service participants from across the community.

 

On Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, the 2015 Day of Service was a tremendous success with 970 staff, faculty, students and their families participating. Day of Service starts early with locations all over the CSRA including Aiken, Columbia County, Richmond County, and Burke County. The volunteers served 48 locations doing a variety of tasks including lawn work, river clean up, painting, organizing and reading. The day ended with a barbeque and jazz concert at the Summerville Campus Amphitheatre.

Fans will receive "Augusta Jaguars" wristbands!

 

The Jaguars host the Lander Bearcats for a Peach Belt Conference doubleheader on Saturday, Jan. 9. The women tip off at 1:30 p.m. and the men follow at 3:30 p.m. in Christenberry Fieldhouse.

Fans will receive "Augusta Jaguars" wristbands and a group picture will be taken on the gym floor with the Day of Service participants in between the women's and men's game. Participants are encouraged to wear their Day of Service shirts!

All university employees and students get one guest in free and should bring their university ID for validation. 

During halftime of the men's game, the Grovetown Elementary Jumping Jaguars will perform and the Day of Service Committee will be recognized.
