Jags Hoops Hosts All-Army Teams For Exhibition Doubleheader Nov. 1

Augusta University women's basketball plays All-Army Team 2pm, men's basketball 4pm

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University men's and women's basketball teams will see their first on-court action of the 2015-16 season on Sunday, Nov. 1 with an exhibition doubleheader with the All-Army teams inside Christenberry Fieldhouse. The women play against the All-Army women's team at 2:00 p.m. and the men follow at 4:00 p.m.

Continuing the ongoing partnership with the Division II Military Pilot Project Team and Fort Gordon Military Base, Jaguar Athletics will host two exhibition games. Before the Jags, the Fort Gordon men's basketball team will square off against a semi-professional team at 12:00 p.m. on Nov. 1 to commence the afternoon of basketball and military collaboration.

All military ID cardholders are admitted free to the games. General admission tickets are $10 per doubleheader (women's & men's games), $8 per single game, and $7 for senior citizens and non-Augusta University students. All events are free for current Augusta University faculty and staff and for retired faculty and staff with a valid ID.

The Jaguar men's basketball squad is ranked No. 17 in the Division II Bulletin Preseason Top 25 list. Men's hoops hosts the Legends Game with Jaguar basketball alumni on Saturday, Nov. 14 at 4:00 p.m. in Christenberry Fieldhouse. The Jags officially tipoff the regular season on Nov. 18 at Claflin in Orangeburg, S.C., for a 7:30 p.m. game before hosting five-consecutive games.

The Augusta University women's basketball team officially tipoff the new season at the Conference Carolinas/ Peach Belt Conference Challenge on Nov. 13 in Central, S.C. In the two-day event, Augusta faces Southern Wesleyan on Nov. 13 at 7:30 p.m. and Emmanuel on Nov. 14 at 3:00 p.m.
