Jaguars open 28-game schedule on Nov. 18 at Claflin University in Orangeburg, S.C.
AUGUSTA, Ga. – With the 2015-16 GRU Augusta men's basketball season set to get started on Wednesday Nov. 18 at Claflin University in Orangeburg, S.C., the Jaguars have announced their full 26-game schedule that features 15 regular-season contests in Christenberry Fieldhouse.
The Jaguars will host two exhibition games prior to the official tipoff of the season. GRU hosts the All-Army Team on Sunday, Nov. 1 at 4:00 p.m. and introduces the Legends Game with Jaguar basketball alumni on Saturday, Nov. 14 at 4:00 p.m. in Christenberry Fieldhouse.
The Jags tipoff the regular season on Nov. 18 at Claflin in Orangeburg, S.C., for a 7:30 p.m. game and then host five-consecutive games. WJBF News Channel 6 will televise the GRU vs. Paine College game on Saturday Nov. 21 at 7:30 p.m. in Christenberry and the Jags stay at home with games against Shaw on Nov. 28, Mount Olive on Nov. 29, Bowie State on Dec. 3 and Coastal Georgia on Dec. 15.
The Coastal Georgia game on Dec. 15 will serve as Education Day for the second-consecutive year where thousands of Richmond County fifth graders will be in attendance for the special 11:00 a.m. start.
The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) schedule kicks off on the road at Georgia Southwestern on Dec. 17 and at Montevallo on Dec. 19.
The Jags host games on seven-consecutive Saturdays in January and February beginning with UNC Pembroke on Jan. 2. While also hosting Francis Marion on Monday, Jan. 4, Young Harris on Monday, Jan. 18, and Georgia College on Wednesday, Feb. 3, GRU booked Saturdays to close out the home portion of the season.
The Jags host Lander on Jan. 9 (3:30 p.m.), Columbus State on Jan. 16 (3:30 p.m.), Flagler on Jan. 23 (3:30 p.m.), Clayton State on Jan. 30 (3:30 p.m.), Armstrong on Feb. 6 (3:30 p.m.), and USC Aiken on Feb. 13 (3:30 p.m.).
Military Appreciation Day will be on Saturday, Jan. 30 for the Clayton State game and 2016 Homecoming and Senior Day will take place on Saturday, Feb. 13 for the USC Aiken game will WJBF News Channel 6 will also be filming.
