ASU To Host Meet ’N Greet

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Augusta State Athletics announced Tuesday an ASU Basketball Meet 'N Greet will take place on Thursday, Oct. 20 at Christenberry Fieldhouse.

The event kicks off at 6:00 p.m., and includes dinner with the Jaguar Basketball teams provided by WifeSaver, a guided tour of Christenberry Fieldhouse, and the opportunity for Jaguar fans to select reserved seating for the upcoming season.

After the tour, the ASU men's basketball squad will take the floor for practice. Fans will also have the chance to purchase season tickets as well as sign up to become a Jaguar Club member.

Admission is $10 and is payable at the door with cash or check. Tickets may be purchased in advance on ASU's main campus in Bellevue Hall from Gina Thurman, Assistant Dean of Students. Tickets will also be available from the Athletics' ticket office inside Christenberry Fieldhouse during normal operating hours (8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).

The Jags return two starters (senior guards O'Neal Armstrong and Tye Beal) and four letterwinners (juniors Kyle Armour and Travis Keels), along with redshirt freshmen Charles Robinson and Devon Wright-Nelson. Last season, ASU was ranked as high as No. 4 in the nation, matched a school record with 30 wins and claimed its fourth Peach Belt Conference Championship in the last five years.

Eleven newcomers, including eight true freshmen and redshirt freshmen, are listed on the Jags' preseason roster. ASU opens the 2011-12 season on Wednesday, Nov. 16 with a doubleheader vs. Paine College.
