KENNESAW, Ga. - The Kennesaw State Owls swept ASU in Peach Belt Conference basketball action Wednesday night at Landrum Centre in Kennesaw, GA. The Lady Jags fell 80-72, while the men's team lost 81-57.
With the losses, the Lady Jags fall to 16-7 overall, 11-6 in Peach Belt action, while the Lady Owls improve to 14-10, 8-8 in the conference . The Jags fall to 15-9 overall, 11-5 in the PBC, with the Owls improving to 21-6, 13-3 in the conference.
In the women's game, ASU got 24 points and 10 rebounds from Sabrina Jones. Melanie Massey chipped in 16 points while Shundra Johnson added 10 in the losing effort. The Lady Owls were led by a game high 25 points from Kristina Usaite. Dominika Miezkowska chipped in 15 on the night.
For the men, Jermale Wilkerson and Darrick Broddie combined for 22 points on the night, as the only Jaguars who scored in the double digits on the night. Kennesaw was led by Bobby Brown's 18 points and 7 rebounds. Terrence Hill and Georgy Joseph scored 14 and 13 points, respectively.
ASU returns home on Saturday, Feb. 22 to face Francis Marion in a doubleheader. The women's game is slated for 5:30 p.m, with the men's game following at 7:30 p.m.
