ASU Rolls Over North Florida 93-50

Augusta, GA -- Augusta State University’s men’s basketball team rolled over North Florida 93-50 Saturday night during Homecoming at the ASU Athletic Complex. With the win, ASU takes over sole possession of first place in the North Division with a 9-3 conference mark. The Jaguars are 15-7 overall, while North Florida falls to 12-10 overall and 6-6 in the Peach Belt Conference.

T.J. Ott led the Jaguars with 21 points on six of 11 shooting from the floor, as well as three of four from three-point range and a perfect six of six from the free throw line. Festus Hawkins added 19 points, nine rebounds and four blocks in the winning effort. Rounding out ASU’s double figure scorers was Gary Boodnikoff with 18 points and Russell Hinder with 14.

Leading North Florida was Koran Godwin with 14 points and Justin Bridges with 13.

ASU ran out to a 51-22 halftime lead after shooting 62 percent from the floor and 86 percent from three-point range. ASU shot 56 percent for the game from the field and 68 percent (13 of 19) from long-range. The Ospreys shot 37 percent from the floor and 17 percent from three-point range.

The Jaguars outrebounded North Florida 38-24.

Augusta State will be in action again Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. for its final home game against Francis Marion University. North Florida will host Columbus State Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m.
