AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University cheerleading team won the 2018 Peach Belt Conference Spirt Competition for the all-female cheerleading division on Sunday, Feb. 26 at the Convocation Center on the Campus of USC Aiken.

For the first time, the PBC Spirit Competition featured dance teams, all-female cheerleading squads, and co-ed cheerleading squads, in a stand-alone event at one location.

The Jaguars took down host school USC Aiken, UNC Pembroke, Flagler, and Lander to win the 2018 conference title – the first for Augusta since introducing competition cheerleading.

The Jaguars are coached by Leza Witherington, Kenietha McRae, and Kylie Fagan and will look to defend their title at the Cheer Ltd. Nationals at CANAM in Myrtle Beach, S.C. March 16-18.
