Jaguars Conclude Season In 6-3 Loss To Lynn

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University baseball team played its final game of the 2019 season on Sunday afternoon against Lynn University and fell 6-3 in non-conference action at Jaguar Field.

 

The Jaguars (18-31, 7-23 PBC) hosted the Senior Day celebration prior to the first pitch and recognized seniors Devin Bilardello, Aron Chick, Zack Goble, Christian Griffin, Tony Jones, Harrison Moore, Chase Slone, and Patrick Watson in a pregame ceremony on the field.

 

The Fighting Knights scored in their first two at bats and led 3-0 after two innings. Augusta tied the game with a run in the second and sixth, but Lynn drove in two in the top of the seventh to win by three runs

 

Jones (5-4) logged his eighth start for Augusta this season and made his 19th appearance. He pitched four innings and held the Knights to two hits for three runs (two earned). Senior Christian Griffin struck out six in three innings of work, while freshman John Micah Law logged the final two innings of action for AU.

 

Bilardello was 2-for-4 with a run for the Jags and sophomore Trent Maddox and freshman Ben Markiewicz each went 2-for-4. Markiewicz added two RBI, while Maddox picked up a run.
