AIKEN, S.C. – The Augusta University baseball team wrapped up its Peach Belt Conference series at USC Aiken with a 5-4 win at Roberto Hernandez Stadium.

Augusta (17-21, 6-18 PBC) scored first on USC Aiken (20-17, 12-9 PBC) when sophomore Mason Robertson drove in sophomore Skylor Murphy with a single to left field in the third inning. AU sophomore Timothy Gray's infield single plated freshman Ben Markiewicz to put the Jags on top early.

Augusta totaled five hits to USCA's five, but capitalized on its scoring opportunities.

The Pacers tied the game with two runs on two singles in the fifth and the game remained tied until AU scored two in the eighth inning to lead 5-3. USC Aiken hit a solo homer in the bottom of the eighth, but the Jags held on for a 5-4 victory.

Bilardello was 2-for-3 with one run for Augusta and Robertson and Gray each had a hit, an RBI, and a run for the Jaguars.

Freshman John Micah Law started the third game of his career and tossed 4.1 innings to strike out two and allow seven hits for three runs. Augusta rookie Chase Horton (1-3) entered the game and got the win in 4.2 innings. Horton struck out two and allowed three hits in the win.
