Griffin Strikes Out 10 In Loss At North Georgia

DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The Augusta University baseball team played game three of the Peach Belt Conference series against North Georgia on Sunday and fell 6-1 at Bob Stein Stadium.

 

Augusta (14-15, 4-14 PBC) allowed four runs to North Georgia (20-8, 10-5 PBC) after two innings and never recovered to fall in game three of the league series.

 

Senior Christian Griffin took over the mound in the second inning and went on to strike out 10, while holding North Georgia to four hits and one run. Griffin pitched 5.1 innings before senior Chase Slone struck out one and gave up one run in an inning of work. Freshman Chase Horton (0-2) got the loss for the Jaguars after giving up an early first-inning lead.

 

The Jags put up four hits to UNG's 10. Augusta senior Devin Bilardello went 1-for-3 and senior Harrison Moore and sophomore Trent Maddox were each 1-for-4. AU senior Patrick Watson hit another home run for the Jags.

 

The Jaguars host the USC Aiken Pacers for a single game on Thursday, March 28 at SRP Park in North Augusta, S.C. Home of the Augusta GreenJackets, SRP Park will open its gates at 5:30 p.m. and first pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
