Maddox Homers Again In Loss To Flagler

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University baseball team dropped a 13-1 Peach Belt Conference game to the Flagler Saints on Saturday afternoon in game two of the league series at Jaguar Field.

 

The Jaguars (13-11, 4-10 PBC) allowed Flagler (14-13, 8-6 PBC) to score in their first three at bats and never recovered. Augusta sophomore Trent Maddox hit another home run to get the Jaguars on the scoreboard in the eighth inning, but the Saints went on to seal the big win.

 

Senior slinger Christian Griffin (1-5) pitched 4.1 innings in the start for Augusta and allowed nine hits for seven runs, before freshmen Chase Horton and John Micah Law pitched in relief.

 

Game two of the series was dubbed the Jaguar Miracle Game and benefited and supported Jaguar Miracle at the Children's Hospital of Georgia. The Jaguars meet Flagler for the series finale on Sunday, March 17 for a 1:00 p.m. first pitch.
