Augusta Rallies From Behind To Win 12-6 At Anderson

ANDERSON, S.C. – The Augusta University baseball team met the Anderson University Trojans on Wednesday night and came back from a 5-1 deficit in the fifth winning to win a 12-6 non-conference game.

 

Augusta is now 13-12 on the year and Anderson went to

 

After leading 1-0 on a sacrifice fly from freshman Beau Hanna, the Jaguars gave up five runs in the fourth inning. In the next at bat, Augusta sophomore Trent Maddox started the comeback with another triple. Senior Harrison Moore reached on an error to score Maddox, before senior Zack Goble drove in Moore on a sac fly. Hanna had an RBI single in the seventh and Moore hit a three-run homer to lift Augusta up big.

 

Augusta senior Chase Slone (2-3) got the win. The Jaguars used six pitchers, while freshman Chase Horton tossed three innings and struck out three in the start.

 

Senior Devin Bilardello and sophomore Mason Robertson each had three hits for Augusta, while Hanna and freshmen Brian Smith and Ben Markiewicz all had carded two hits.

 

The Jaguars play at North Georgia in Dahlonega, Ga., March 22-24 for a three-game Peach Belt Conference series.
