AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University baseball team won 3-2 over the Lynn University Fighting Knights on Friday night at Lake Olmstead Stadium in game of their final series. Augusta senior Matt Meeks tossed a complete game and struck out four, while holding to three hits for two run.

Augusta (15-31) will celebrate 2018 Senior Day during their final home games of the season on Saturday, April 28 at Lake Olmstead Stadium. The Jaguars host Lynn (20-25) for a doubleheader beginning at 1:00 p.m. and the senior day ceremony will take place in between the games on Saturday.

The Jaguars teamed with the Augusta University Medical Center for the Lab Week game to kick off the series with the Lynn Fighting Knights. The national Medical Laboratory Professionals Week is April 22- 28, 2018, and is an annual celebration of medical laboratory professionals and pathologists who play a vital role in health care and patient advocacy.

Meeks (2-5) started his 11th game for the Jaguars and pitched his second complete-game performance of the season. Augusta junior Devin Bilardello went 2-for-3 and seniors Brent Alford and Ty Hobbs each had a hit and combined for three RBI.

Lynn lined a two-RBI single to centerfield in the second inning to take the first lead at 2-0, but Hobbs hit his team-leading 10th homer of the season and his second in two games with a line-drive shot to left field to make the score 2-1 in the third inning.

Alford plated sophomore Timothy Gray with a sacrifice fly to tie the game at 2-2 in the fourth inning and Alford's double to the left-center gap gave Augusta a 3-2 advantage in the sixth.
