Jags Slip At Home to USC Aiken, 6-0

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University baseball team wrapped its Peach Belt Conference series with the USC Aiken Pacers on Sunday afternoon with a 6-0 loss at Lake Olmstead Stadium.

 

The Augusta (11-27, 7-20 PBC) loss gave USCA (24-13, 15-6 PBC) the series sweep.

 

Senior slinger Matt Meeks (1-4) pitched six innings for the Jaguars and struck out five, while allowing nine hits for four runs (three earned). Jags seniors Cody Pugh and Ben Parr pitched late in the game for AU in relief appearances.

 

Leading the league in hits and plate appearances, Jags junior Devin Bilardello went 2-for-4 at the plate, while juniors Patrick Watson, Harrison Moore, and senior Brent Alford each recorded one hit.

 

USCA put up unanswered runs in the first, fourth, and ninth inning for the shut out win. AU heads to Newberry, S.C. on Tuesday, April 10 for a 6:00 p.m. non-conference game against the Newberry Wolves.
