Augusta Baseball Beats Up Erskine 12-5 On The Road

DUE WEST, S.C. – The Augusta University baseball team outhit Erskine College 16-9 to blowout the Flying Fleet 12-5 at Grier Field in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon.

 

Augusta is now 11-24 overall and Erskine moved to 22-15 with the loss. AU put up five runs in its first at bat and never slowed down, adding four in the sixth inning and three in the eighth.

 

Freshman Charlie Cochran (1-2) got the win for Augusta in five innings of work with two strikeouts. He held the Fleet to three hits for one run, before the bullpen held it down. Freshman Brennen Berger, senior Aron Chick, junior Zack Goble, and senior Cody Pugh all tossed an inning for the Jaguars.

 

Junior Devin Bilardello and senior Brent Alford each went 3-for-5 for Augusta, while Goble, junior Harrison Moore, sophomore Timothy Gray, and freshman Jay Pendley all logged two hits for the Jags.

 

AU hosts the USC Aiken Pacers for a three-game Peach Belt Conference series April 6-8 at Lake Olmstead Stadium. Augusta plays USCA on Friday (6pm), Saturday (6pm), and Sunday (1pm).
