Mason Robertson Named Peach Belt Freshman Of The Week

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta University rookie infielder Mason Robertson (Jesup, Ga.) was named the Peach Belt Conference Freshman of the Week on Tuesday afternoon by the league office in Augusta, Ga.

 

Robertson hit .545 with a home run and 10 RBI in four games for the Jaguars last week. The freshman second baseman opened the week 2-for-2 against Benedict with a pair of RBIs. He hit .444 in three games at nationally-ranked UNC Pembroke, going 3-for-5 in the opener with a three-run home run and five total RBI.

 

He had three more RBI in the finale on one hit and one sac fly. He drew five walks and had a .667 on-base percentage and stole two bases in three attempts. He was also perfect in the field with no errors in 22 chances. He is tied for fourth in the PBC in RBI.

 

This is the sixth time a Jaguar has been named the PBC Baseball Freshman of the Week.
