Augusta Hosts 29 Games At Lake Olmstead Stadium In 2018 Schedule

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta University head baseball coach Chris Howell and the Jaguars released their schedule for the upcoming 2018 season on Monday morning. The new slate features 50 games with 29 home events at Lake Olmstead Stadium.

"We are looking forward to this season's schedule with all 29 home games to be played at Lake Olmstead," Howell said. "There is an exciting freshness in the air with free non-conference game admission and we look forward to engaging our Augusta community throughout the season."

 

The Jaguars host West Georgia Feb. 2-3 for the season opener at the Lake. Augusta begins the year on Friday, Feb. 2 with a 3:00 p.m. single game against UWG and returns on Saturday, Feb. 3 for a non-conference doubleheader at noon with the Wolves.

 

Augusta heads to Erskine for a midweek non-conference game on Feb. 7 and hosts a three-day series Feb. 9-11 against Francis Marion to begin Peach Belt Conference play.

 

Augusta plays four single non-conference games at home to close out February. They meet Benedict (Feb. 14), Valdosta State (Feb. 21), North Greenville (Feb. 27), and Claflin (Feb. 28). The North Greenville matchup begins a nine-game home stint for AU.

 

The Jags have seven back-to-back home games to open the month of March. First up, Columbus State will make their way to Augusta (March 2-4), then a Wednesday game against Newberry College, and finally a weekend series versus Young Harris (March 9-11).

 

AU goes on the road March 16-18 to face Flagler in St. Augustine, Fla., before hosting Coker (March 21) and North Georgia (March 24-25) at Lake Olmstead. Trips to Lenoir-Rhyne (Feb. 27) and Lander (March 30-April 1) end competition in March and Augusta hosts 11 games in their final month of the regular-season.

 

The Jags meet Erskine (April 4), Peach-Belt rival USC Aiken (April 6-8), crosstown foe Paine College (April 18), Georgia College (April 20-22), and Lynn (April 27-28) to close out the regular-season.
