TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. – Augusta University baseball alum Clint Hardy signed a professional contract to play baseball for the Traverse City Beach Bums – a professional member of the East Division of the Frontier League out of Traverse City, Mich.

"This is something I've been looking forward to for a long time," Hardy said. "It's better late than never. I can't wait for the opportunity and I just have to make the most out of it."

Founded in 1995, the Beach Bums play all their home games at Wuerfel Park. The Bums average over 200,000 fans per season for home games, ranking near the top of attendance lists in independent baseball. Hardy will join the team on Tuesday, August 1.

Hardy started three seasons in the outfield for the Jaguars from 2015-2017 after transferring for his sophomore season. Hardy was named All-American, All-Region, and All-Conference in 2015 after he hit .445 to lead the Peach Belt Conference and post the best single-season batting average in school history.

As a junior in 2016, he was named a preseason NCBWA All-American and earned first team Peach Belt All-Conference honors. He started 119 of his 123 games played as a Jaguar and ended with a .372 career batting average – fourth best career average all time for Augusta.

Hardy played in the Collegiate Coastal Plains League for the Savannah Bananas in the summer of 2016. He had the third best average in the league (.364) and guided the team to a CPL Championship.
