Augusta Matches Four Hits At Georgia College In 1-0 Loss

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Playing in their final regular season Peach Belt Conference road series, the Augusta University baseball team matched Georgia College with four hits, but fell 1-0 in the pitcher's duel road loss.

 

Augusta moved to 15-22 and 7-12 in the league, while Georgia College improved to 26-9 and 12-6 in the PBC.

 

Tristan Jones (5-4) made the 11th start of his senior season and tossed eight innings to strike out four to hold the Bobcats to four hits for one run.

 

Cal Gentry gave GC the first run of the game with a single in the third inning to score Garrett Green. It was enough for the Bobcats to hold off Augusta in the first of three games.

 

GC's Brady Walsh (5-1) pitched 7.1 innings and gave up four hits with five strikeouts.

 

Seniors Cody Lanford and Jamal Cummings and juniors Brent Alford and Jim Wagner each had a hit for AU.

 

Augusta plays a doubleheader on Saturday, April 15 to wrap up the series at Georgia College beginning at 1:00 p.m.
