Jags Baseball Hosts Cancer Awareness Day March 11

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University baseball team hosts the annual cancer awareness game on Saturday, March 11 against UNC Pembroke for a 2:00 p.m. first pitch in Lake Olmstead Stadium. The game serves to raise awareness and funds for cancer research with all proceeds going to the Georgia Cancer Center at Augusta University!

The Georgia Cancer Center will be on site for the game to take donations, inform fans on how to get involved, and hand out items to the crowd! Numerous cancer survivors will be in attendance to join the teams for the ceremonial first pitch, starting lineups, National Anthem, and the Peach Belt Conference baseball game.

Augusta meets UNC Pembroke for a three-game league series on the weekend – meeting the Braves Friday, March 10 at 6:00 p.m., Saturday at 2:00 p.m., and Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

The Jags will welcome Operation Teammate for Sunday's game. Op. Teammate provides an opportunity for sports teams to welcome children of military parents as honorary teammates during times of separation and deployment. Kids will lineup with the teams for the national anthem, run the bases, meet the teams and get autographs!
