Cross Country Regional Rankings Week Three

Cross Country Regional Rankings Week Three

Augusta Ga. – The regional rankings for Division II cross country have just been released for both the men and women.

The Augusta University Men's Cross Country was, again, ranked third in the region despite a dominant win at the Queen City Invite. The rest of the field remained unchanged, with Queens ranked first, Mount Olive in second, UNC Pembroke in fourth, with Wingate in fifth. Queens, Mount Olive, and Augusta are each favored to make the NCAA Tournament with automatic bids following their respective conference championships.

The women's cross country team saw an improvement in their rank for the second consecutive week! The Jaguars improved one spot, moving from seventh to sixth in the region. Their top ten finish at the Queen City Invite and Micah Weathers' individual victory were instrumental in their improved ranking.

Queens remained atop the women's ranks for the region. Wingate was bumped up one spot into second, with Peach Belt schools Flagler and North Georgia in third and fourth respectively.

Both squads prepare for the Peach Belt Conference Championships, hosted by UNC Pembroke, on Saturday, October 26th.
