Charlotte, N.C. – The Men's and Women's Cross Country teams are off to Charlotte, N.C. for their final meet before the Peach Belt Conference Championships. The Queen City Invite (hosted by Queens) boasts an impressive lineup of teams from the NAIA, and the NCAA's Divisions I, II, and III.
Highlighting the meet are several teams that are regionally ranked in the southeast.
For the men's race (8K), Anderson (7th), Flagler (6th), Georgia College (8th), and Lenior-Rhyne (10th) will all be competing against Augusta (3rd).Adding to the challenge will be multiple Division I foes such as, The Citadel, Coastal Carolina, College of Charleston, Furman (B-team), Gardner-Webb, Marshall, Mercer, South Carolina State, and Western Carolina.
In the women's meet (5K), Anderson (2nd), Flagler (4th), Lenoir-Rhyne (6th), and North Georgia (5th) make up the top regional competition for Augusta (7th). Their field also consists of several Division I opponents, including The Citadel, Coastal Carolina, College of Charleston, Furman (B-team), Gardner-Webb, James Madison, Liberty, Mercer, South Carolina State, Stetson, and Western Carolina.
The women's team starts at 5:00 p.m., and the men's squad goes at 5:30 p.m. A recap will be available after the final results are in at www.augustajags.com.
