Cross Country Regional Rankings Week Two

Cross Country Regional Rankings Week Two

Augusta Ga. – The regional rankings for Division II cross country have just been released for both the men and women.

The Augusta University men's cross country team remained firm as the third rank team in the region due, in part, to their third place finish at the Bulldog Stampede.

Queens remained as the top ranked squad in the Southeast while Mount Olive, the Bulldog Stampede winners, stayed second. Falling in at fourth in the poll is fellow Peach Belt competitor, UNC Pembroke, followed by Wingate in fifth.

The women's cross country team saw an improvement in their rank, as they jumped form ninth ranked to seventh! The squad also boasted an impressive finish at the Bulldog Stampede by placing third.

Like the men's poll, Queens remained atop the women's ranks for the region, with Anderson staying at second. Wingate made quite the jump in ranks, going from 10th all the way up to third! Fellow PBC squads Flagler and North Georgia are ranked fourth and fifth respectively to round out the top five.

Both teams will get a chance to face up against the region's top contender when they head to Charlotte N.C. for the Queen City Invite (hosted by Queens) on Friday, September 27th.
