Clean Sweep for Cross Country Conference Accolades

Augusta Ga. – Augusta University Cross Country swept the Runner of the Week awards for the Peach Belt Conference this afternoon. Micah Weathers picked up the award for the women's award winner, while Anthony Urmetz earned the accolade for the men.

 

Weathers turned in an outstanding performance at the Bulldog Stampede in Wingate, N.C over the weekend, earning a second place finish in a field of 150 runners. With her time of 22:07.6, she helped the Jaguars earn a team finish of third out of 19 schools. She also was the top Peach Belt runner in the field, with more than a minute separating her from her next closest conference competitor.

 

Urmetz had an impressive outing at the Bulldog Stampede as well, finishing ninth out of 147 runners. He was also the top Peach Belt runner for the men, finishing with a time of 26:26.6, thirty seconds faster than the next conference runner. His efforts helped Augusta finish third out of 19 squads, while resting their starters.
