AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta University Athletics and the Tabernacle Baptist Church will host the inaugural Kingdom Living Family Expo inside Christenberry Fieldhouse on Saturday, August 4. The event is open and free to the general public and will feature health screenings and medical tests, as well as a back to school supplies giveaway.
"This is a prime example of how the university and the community can partner and collaborate for the good of its citizens," Director of Athletics Clint Bryant said. "Augusta Athletics has traditionally valued its role as being an integral part of this community. Promoting good health and positive educational attainment is something of great value and we look forward to working with Tabernacle Baptist Church and Dr. Rev. Charles Goodman and his team in making this a tremendous experience for all involved. The Jaguars are really excited about the inaugural event."
Christenberry Fieldhouse will serve as the venue for the Kingdom Living Family Expo and free community health screenings will take place in the north mezzanine near the main entrance. The free school supplies giveaway will take place in the south mezzanine of the arena, where families can pick up all the necessities for going back to school.
There will be free snacks provided as well as numerous information tables and prizes.
"This is a great opportunity for the community to come together to highlight four areas of importance," Reverend Dr. Charles E. Goodman, Jr. said, the senior Pastor at Tabernacle Baptist Church. "We are indeed grateful for the partnership between Tabernacle Baptist Church and Augusta University Athletics to combine efforts in taking ministry beyond the walls of the Church. Everyone is invited to come out to this event to gain practical information that will be available pertaining to youth, education, veterans, and mental and physical health."
